This lake is supposed to be blessed by goddess Kali and protected by Lord Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims journey here to bathe in its sacred water, on the fifteenth day, following the festival of Janamashtami. A fair is held every year at this lake during the month of August or September.

Shahtalai ( Baba Balak Nath Ji ) Temple
Talai named region is situated about 55 kms. ahead from Bilaspur on Bhager- Badser road.Click for more details This place is only 4 km to Deotsidh temple. Ancient name of this place was Changer Talai. Baba Balak nath’s worship and grazing maa ratno’s cattles, later returning her mattress of chach-it got famous by the name of chahtalai which later turned to Shahtalai. Existing ancient remnants like banyan tree and dhunnah under it and gurna shrubs on the one side of talai bazaar are almost 500 years old. Every year in Chaitra (March-April) fairs are held through out the month. Devotees come from far-off places to offer rot as prasad.

Chamunda Devi Temple
It is 15 km. from Kangra. This temple is situated on the right bank of the 'Baner' stream Click for more detailswith the Dhauladhar as a backdrop, this has an idol of goddess Chamunda, who, it is said, was given the boon to fulfil the desires of those who worshipped her. On the back of the temple is a cave niche where a stone 'Lingam' under a boulder represents Nandi Keshwar ( Shiva ).
